growing up in texas has its perks.
i love the mythology of the place.
i love the way the slogan “don’t mess with texas” from our anti-litter campaign, was perceived as bravado (we do have tons of bravado, it’s true) instead of pure genius.
i love that “bring me a tea” means pre-sweetened & ICED!
it also means, true [...]

ok.  i admit it.
i am on an owl kick.
forgive me.
love this owl mobile from pink perch/etsy.  suspend it over the table as a centerpiece, then give it to the mommy to be.  or choose one or both of these vintage ceramic planters as decoration instead.  give these adorable owl onesies from ressicajachel/etsy as presents, wrapped [...]

owls were my favorite creatures as a kid.
well, owls and ducks and mr. squirrel.  and my dog.  i loved my hamsters & goldfish too.
but owls really were up there, high on my list of favorite things.
now, so are these, as they have started the romance all over again.
these machine embroidered colorful little bitties  are made [...]

these are pretty cute!
cute for being something you don’t really need.  but, i do appreciate the repurposing of otherwise wasted materials.  each pack of 100 sells for 16 bucks.  very cute hostess gift!
also, make for pretty cute crafting supply.

i love these super cute cotton flowers by anna!
you can choose either a brooch or hair clip fastener.  i bet she’d make them into ponytail holders though.  in which case, they would make great summer napkin ring holders doubled as party favors!

summertime!
(well, it is supposed to be here anyway).  yes, summertime!
we all love a great summer blockbuster, or romantic comedy or that must-see indie flick that everyone is talking about.  sometimes, we are just escaping the oppressive humidity into the chill AC of the theater.  but as we sit there munching our popcorn, how many of [...]

walking around aimlessly the other day, i stumbled upon a street fair.
imagine that!
yes, indeed.  it is a sure sign of summer when the street fairs start popping up all over town.   they reek havoc on traffic, and send you home reeking of the distilled smells of roasted corn cobs & the many variety of beefs-on-a-stic.
this [...]
