calendar_062908this lovely non-profit is dedicated to promoting our region’s agriculture and to building a new community of purveyors, whose common goal is to pioneer environmentally and socially responsible food production.

their first market was held in October 2005, under the vaulted arcade of the New York City Municipal Building. since then, two subsequent markets were held at the Seaport in December 2007 and June 2008. vendors made record sales at both markets, which drew thousands of enthusiastic supporters; fostered new connections between purveyors, farmers, distributors, and advocates of an alternative and just food system; and helped incubate ideas, such as a proposed Guild of New York City Bread Bakers.

this year, starting september 13, they will be holding their first season of monthly markets! yea! join supporters über foodies like alice waters & dan barber by shopping the market and helping local vendors.
