nasturtiums, spicy members of the watercress family, are delightful sweet flowers that are edible addition to salads & soups.   they’re super easy to grow in a nyc windowbox too.

packed with vitamin C, pair the peppery petals with sweet strawberries in a yummy salad.  or  sprinkle over a chilled avocado or gazpacho soup.  paired above with hot radishes, they also are a great garnish for a tomato & cucumber salad in a light vinaigrette.

look at the farmer’s market for fresh, pesticide free flowers.
