sundance film fest: no impact man

if you happen to be in sundance this week, make sure you check out my dear friend justin schein’s documentary about no impact man–colin beavan. i haven’t seen it yet, but justin (who has been compared to errol morris) always brings a thoughtful lens to the film. that, and his particularly sly sense of humor, are my major selling points in getting you to go check it out.
while there has been much hoopla about the integrity of colin’s (self inflicted) challenge–making zero environmental impact–it seems it might be his wife who is the most interesting character study of the film. she becomes his trusty sidekick, reluctantly joining her husband, as he proclaims himself “no impact man”. she is reduced to a life without lattes & louboutins…sigh.
i don’t have a clue how it turns out, so hopefully the film will make wide release. if it does, go see what all the fuss is about.

i really hope it gets released in theaters!
