come one, come all to the fun that is mulchfest! this is pure delight for anyone who has a love/hate relationship with their christmas tree. once the lights have gone out, you’re left with little more than a pile of pine needles & promises to avoid the hassle next year entirely, by finally investing in that super cute vintage tree you’ve wanted forever.

focus your rage & do a green deed–locate a participating park near you, scoop up that mess-making fire hazard & make your way to mulchfest ‘09!!!

get the last laugh, or shed an emotional tear of nostalgia as you toss your tree–with all it’s faded glory–into the chipper. that is (bitter)sweet revenge. remember to bring bags to take home some mulch for your garden.

if you don’t have time to indulge in lumberjack fantasy, you can still get in on the action–kick your tree to the curb. pick-ups start today and continue until january 17th. after that trees will be collected as part of regular trash service.

    Back at home, we took old trees and put them in the dunes at the beach. The sand would eventually cover them and build the dune higher, which would prevent a raging ocean from pouring over the beach. Whereupon it would empty into a nasty little brackish pond which had formed over time.
