TED talk: NYT food writer mark bittman

the other day my dad, in the midst of a recent political debate, gave me a backhanded compliment. he said that he has always been shocked, that over these 22 years that ive been a vegetarian, he’s never felt i forced it down his or anyone’s throat–that i’ve always presented it as an interesting idea.
well, TED (technology, entertainment, design) conference talks are also a great resource for anyone looking for progressive & interesting, if not enlightening, ideas.
here, mark bittman gives an insightful historical analysis of food in america–back to the days when “diet” simply meant the foods you did eat, not the foods you didn’t in order to lose weight.
i hope all of you reading this now, share my dad’s sentiment and recognize that i am just presenting an interesting idea–do with it what you will.
