organic wine tasting: heller estate

Published on August 30th, 2008

last night, having a rather large bawdy group for dinner, we did quintessential NYC–hit 6th street for indian.

we decided on banjara. some friends were in town from austin so it was an eclectic mix of people. all varying forms of vegetarian were represented, as well as a few key food allergies. these guys had their work cut out for them. and while yes, the food was tasty & well-portioned, is was the wine list that gave me most glee–they have organics!

not a long list to choose from, so i settled on the heller estate chardonnay. refreshing & crisp, yet sweet enough to stand up to the spices, i love this wine. maybe it’s all in my head–but i swear organics (sans pesticides) taste cleaner & fresher. heller uses predatory wasps & mites to stave off infestation rather than bug sprays. pretty cool

so, go grab a bottle and chow down on some sag paneer. you will thank me.

oh, and keep your eyes peeled for our new monthly organic wine tasting party posts, coming soon!
