it’s not just because i’m a vegetarian
or because i find the zoo depressing.
i just would not be able to enjoy my dinner if a critter was on the table.
i’m also not down for the bird or butterfly release at weddings. you are introducing an animal (insect) to an area it’s not familiar with, and depending on the season, you might also be condemning it to a sad, slow death out in the wild.
i digress. maybe people take these cute fish home–yeah!
…but, more likely, i suspect end of the night, they’re flushed.
