garden party manifesto

the world is so wasteful–from the cars we drive, to the bottled water we drink, to yes, sadly, the parties that we plan. the inherent waste associated with throwing a fun, stylish event seems unavoidable, but that’s just not true. while there are varying shades of green–for some, unless you’re living off the grid, growing veggies & milking your own cows, you just aren’t green enough–for most, it’s the smaller changes that truly get incorporated into our lives. maybe for you, it is enough to buy organic & to remember to turn off the lights when you leave the house.

initially we worried that garden party would never be green enough. but really, what on earth does that mean? it’s not for us to say who is green & who is not. (hey, we’re not into guilt–we like to party.) it’s our job to lay out your options—the ups & downs, pros & cons, the trade-offs—to tell it to you straight so you can make choices that don’t sell your soul to save your bottom line. a green manifesto of sorts. whatever your level of green, your garden party event will reflect your style of commitment–be it still green around the edges, full on granola crunch or chic hybridization.

what shade of green are you? green vs. green-minded

party planning does not have an industry standard of just what makes a party green. while we at garden party do think there are some bare minimums that are a must, (organics, eye to recycled) we like to think of our events as green-minded versus being green. we can’t choose green for everything, but we can present you with the freshest green options available. that’s our promise to you & the earth! so, whether you’ve gone hybrid or roam the streets on two wheels or two feet, we can match your party to the life you lead.
